Terms of Service
Effective July 12, 2026
These terms describe the basic rules for using Handoff. By creating an account or using Handoff, you agree to them.
The service
Handoff is invoicing and business-record software for independent service businesses. It helps users organize customers, income, expenses, quotes, invoices, reports, and exports. Handoff is not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice and does not replace professional advice.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate account and billing information.
- Keep your password and account access secure.
- Review invoices, calculations, tax settings, exports, and customer information before relying on or sending them.
- Follow applicable tax, privacy, recordkeeping, consumer-protection, and business laws.
- Do not misuse Handoff, interfere with the service, or use it for unlawful or harmful activity.
Subscriptions and the free trial
Handoff offers a seven-day free trial followed by a CA$10 monthly subscription unless a different price is clearly shown before checkout. A card is not required to start the trial. If no payment method is added before the trial ends, the subscription may end automatically. Stripe securely processes subscription payments and provides receipts.
Cancellation and payment problems
You can cancel future renewals through Manage billing in Handoff. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Charges are generally non-refundable except when required by law or when a billing error is confirmed. Past-due accounts may receive a short grace period before editing access is paused; data export remains available.
Your records and backups
You own the business information you enter. You grant Handoff permission to process it only as needed to provide and secure the service. You are responsible for keeping appropriate copies of important records. Handoff includes JSON and CSV export tools for this purpose.
Availability and changes
Handoff is provided on an “as available” basis. Features may change, and maintenance or technical problems may temporarily interrupt access. Because Handoff is supported by a solo developer, support is best-effort and fixes are handled as quickly as reasonably possible.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Handoff is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, lost profits, lost opportunities, or decisions made from incorrect user-entered information. Handoff’s total liability related to the service will not exceed the subscription fees you paid during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Account suspension or termination
Access may be limited or ended for non-payment, abuse, security risks, unlawful use, or material violation of these terms. You may request account deletion through the support form.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as Handoff changes. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions can be sent through the Handoff support form.
